Class Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Kindergarten!  I am so glad to meet all of you and want to thank you for coming to orientation.  Starting the new year is very exciting for all of us.  I am really looking forward to working with you to make Kindergarten a positive experience for both you and your child.  Your child will become a very big part of my life this year, and I promise you that I will treat your child in a respectful and caring way each and every day.

There are a few things that I would like you to know to help make this school year run smoothly for all of us.  Please read the following carefully and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by calling 629-5627 ext. 1342.  I can be reached any time after 2:35.  If you call during the day, your call will go to the answering machine.  It will not ring in my room.  So please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  You may also email me at or send a note in with your child.   Please be sure that I have your current phone numbers so that I can call if a problem would arise.

  1. Your child will be coming home with an ID type lanyard that will have your child’s bus # and lunch #.  Please have your child wear this ID lanyard the first three weeks of school to assist them with bus transportation to and from school. It will also help them at lunch time with their lunch number.

  2. I will be sending a folder home with your child.  Please check and read over everything in the folder each night.  Then return it to school each day with your child.  I will be sending things home for you in this folder, and I would expect you to send things to school for me in this folder.

  3. Please send in a change of clothes in a zip lock bag with your child’s first and last name on the front.  The bags should have a shirt, shorts/pants, underwear, and socks.  This helps with accidents and spills.

  4. Please send in an old shirt or painting smock with your child’s name on it for art class.

  5. Unified Arts Classes will be M-F 11:50-12:30

    •  Monday-Gym
    • Tuesday-Art
    • Wednesday-Library
    • Thursday-Music
    • Friday-Technology/Computer

Please remember to have your child wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes on gym days.   Library books need to be returned each week to avoid a fine.

  6. If your child is going to be picked up, you must first send a note in with the following information: date and time of pick-up, your child’s first and last name, and who will be picking them up.  The that person will come to the gym doors for an end of the day pick-up, to sign out your child.  Please be sure they have identification with them.

  7. Please go over the menu with your child.  If they don’t like what is being served, consider packing a lunch.  We have a long day in Kindergarten and the children do so much better if they have a good breakfast and lunch.  We do have free breakfast for everyone until 7:50.

  8. Please put cafeteria money in an envelope with their name (first and last), grade, and teacher and lunch number on it.  This will be sent directly to the cafeteria to be deposited into their lunch account so this information is very important.

Thank you for all your help,

          Mrs. Buncich
